Keith ( Defprince! ) Wason was born on the 16th February in the city of Belmont, Port - Spain Trinidad West Indies.
The 6' 2'' Artist, Rapper, Poet, Music Producer, and artiste among other things, began his career in music at the tender age of twelve with such influences as LL Cool J, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, Dana Dane, Krs One and many other acts that anchored his interest in the world of Rap music. During his childhood, he created rap & R&B groups that performed for small church concerts and the like, these groups consisted mainly of family members cousins and close friends. 
After completing a degree in Visual Arts at the University of the West Indies in 2006, he took the opportunity to write, produce and record a "Rapso track " entitled "Cyah Done" as a stress reliever which got him an interview on local radio along with airplay on two radio stations. After the success of self producing an entire track from start to finish along with self promotion to the point of airplay and performing in a popular entertainment outlet ( Mas camp pub ) he was encouraged and invigorated to do more in this field. 
Later success followed again when another "Rapso" song entitled "Madness" a song that spoke out against the wildness and mad behaviour that is normally associated with Trinidad's carnival, also got airplay along with an interview. After the success of the "Rapso" genre, Defprince! decided to focus his attention on the genre he loved the most and started working on a " Rap " album entitled " A rude awakening "
